HAIR MASKS
To avoid breakage try one of these easy and fun hair masks recipes. They will add protein, nutrients, and help balance the micro-biome of your scalp.
mayo + avocado hair mask
In a bowl combine 1 cup of mayonnaise with half an avocado and three drops of rosemary essential oil.
Apply the mask all over your hair, wrap a warm towel over your head and let sit for 30 minutes.
CASTOR OIL + EGGS HAIR MASK
(for protein and shine!)
In a medium sized bowl combine half a ¼ cup of castor oil with 2 whole eggs.
Apply the mixture to your hair and use a warm towel to cover your head. Let sit for 30 minutes and rinse it off with cold water and a mild shampoo.
STRAWBERRIES + EGG YOLKS HAIR MASK
(strawberries have a high content of ellagic acid, which protects the hair from thinning)
In a blender blend 1 cup of fresh strawberries. Add 2 egg yolks and a teaspoon of virgin olive oil.
Apply the mixture to your hair and use a warm towel to cover your head. Let sit for 30 minutes and rinse with cold water and a mild shampoo.
BANANA + COCONUT OIL HAIR MASK
(The banana will act as a natural softening agent and will also strengthen the hair)
Combine one full ripe banana with enough coconut oil to make a paste without it getting too slippery.
Apply the paste evenly over your head and hair and let it soak-in for approximately 30 minutes. Wash your hair with cold water and style as usual.
EGG YOLKS + YOGURT + BURDOCK ROOT OIL HAIR MASK
Set aside 2 egg yolks and combine them to half a cup of yogurt, 2 tablespoons of burdock root oil, and three drops of lavender essential oil.
Mix the ingredients thoroughly and apply to your hair. Gently massage into the scalp as well. Wrap your head in a warm towel and let sit for 30 minutes or more and rinse with a gentle shampoo to remove the egg properly.
HONEY + YOGURT HAIR MASK
(Excellent to soothe inflammation and add friendly bacteria to the scalp)
Combine 10 tablespoons of raw honey with half a cup of yogurt and 2 drops of rose essential oil.
Apply generously to each strand of hair and cover the head with a warm towel. Let sit for 30 minutes or more. Rinse well with warm water and a mild shampoo.
